Hello friends!
202.4 This a.m.
Only 3 pounds lost this month, oh well. I stayed on plan and did my best.
Today I did 10 minutes on the stairmaster and 25 on the treadmill HIIT, plus a few minutes cool down. I saw this guy yesterday doing full sit ups from a lying down position, and he did lot's of them, I tried it last night....oh boy. Not good!
I did a set of side twists on this machine, I think it's a Cybex. Not the greatest workout, but better then nothing.
No gym tomorrow, DH is playing golf and there will be a frost delay....so I won't have time before I work :(
Thanks Marshall, Barb , and Rie for your comments on the DD!
Check ya later.

Hi Chari,
The weight machines at the gym I use are made by Cybex. That waist twisting one is similar to one there. The trainer said to just forget that one. (I had been using it, it was the only one she seemed dead set on like that) I think she felt it only targeted a small area and not effectively. She mentioned some Pilates floor moves or medicine ball exercises instead. Years before, a class gave the exercise of laying on your back, arms stretched out on floor, bring knees up and then bring the bent knees to one side then center then the other side.
Also I'd heard several places that the full out sit ups are not good for you. I know the kids do not do them in gym anymore. The trainer feels that the ones on a BOSU or balance ball target better. She has them in a small range of motion with out pause at the start or finish of the up or back motion. The first set is work but by the time the cluster is back to the second set the abs are not happy. Kind of like the dip/chin up machine. Oh and she is strong on if you work a muscle you should work it's counter, for balance.
Hope your weekend was a nice one.

Rie , I only use that one machine at the gym I go to only on Saturdays...you are right..it's a waste of time. I did research the full sit up thing and it's not good for you especially me b/c I am old!
Don't have or know what BOSU is. What's a counter? Like a front and back thing....I really need to get better at this, I spend 6-7 days a week at the gym, I need to make the best use of my time there!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you are well enough to go to yoga tomorrow!

Hear you about the time in the gym. It was just getting to be to much and growing. Between the trainer and reading rethinking it all. Still in the planning stage though. BOSU is the half a balance ball looking thing. In some ways easier to use than balance ball and with different exercises. In some ways harder to use.
Just meant(counter) the musles that do the other half of a move or support. Back and front of arm, back and front of leg. abs and back. Like I had wanted to hit the arms so there would be as little hang as possible after lose. Was doing the muscles in the back mostly. She adviced working whole arm the set of muscles would fill skin from all around. Plus give balance.
How old is old, I'm 46. Had said I felt old to the trainer and she freaked, she is 42 (mind you, PREFECT dancer's body and pretty, I thought she was MUCH younger the rat, no trueth she is not a rat, darn it). Have to admit with working out feeling better (not so old). Though in yoga today we were rotating the ankles and they kept making snapping noise. All in all loved the class.

Didn't see your post till today, I am nearing 48..I think I am old. I also have noisy bones...Hopefully the gym will make it all better.
